Beta Privacy Disclosure

The Work Account service (“Service”) is a new product in beta testing offered by Meta Platforms, Inc. (“we” or “us”). Your use of any Meta Quest-branded devices, and Meta and third-party applications, products and services is subject to the relevant terms and privacy policies that govern the use of those devices, applications, products, and services. For more information on Meta’s data collection and processing activities for Meta Quest-branded devices and Meta applications, products and services, please review the Meta Privacy Policy and the Supplemental Meta Platforms Technologies Privacy Policy.

The Service is intended for use by organizations and is provided to you by your employer or other organization that has authorized your access to, and use of, the Service (your “Organization”), to allow your Organization to create, manage and maintain Work Accounts for its personnel. If your Organization provides you with a Work Account, the Work Account is provided for login and authentication purposes only, and to allow you and others to access Meta Quest-branded devices, and certain Meta and third-party applications, products, and services made available on the devices.

While we receive limited information about you and your activity in connection with your Work Account and the Service (as described below under “I. What kind of information is collected?”), we process this information in accordance with the terms of our agreement with your Organization and your Organization’s lawful instructions. Your Organization is responsible for your Work Account and its administration and may have additional policies or codes of conduct that apply to your use of the Services. We are not responsible for and have no control over your Organization’s privacy or security practices. Please contact your Organization with questions or requests regarding the Service, the processing of your personal information, and any privacy choices or controls you may have.

We have set out further information below including the types of information collected by your Organization, and shared with us, as part of the Service and how this may be used.

I. What kind of information is collected?

Your Organization will collect the following kinds of information when you, your colleagues or other users access the Service, and will share this information with Meta:

  • your employee contact information, such as full name and work email address;
  • your user name and password;
  • your work title, department information and other information related to your work or Organization;
  • the content, communications and other information that you provide when you use the Service, including when you sign up for an account. This can include information in or about the content that you provide (e.g., metadata);
  • user communications, feedback, suggestions and ideas sent to your Organisation;
  • billing and payment information regarding products or services purchased by your Organization; and
  • information that you provide when you or your Organization contact or engage our support team regarding the Service.

II. How does your Organization use this information?

Your Organization will share the information that it collects with Meta, as provider of the Service, in order to allow Meta to provide and support the Service for your Organization and other users and in accordance with any other instructions from your Organization. Examples of such use include:

  • communicating with users and administrators regarding their use of the Service;
  • enhancing the security of the Service for your Organization;
  • personalizing your and your Organization's experiences as part of our provision of the Service;
  • developing new tools, products or services within the Service for your Organization;
  • identifying and fixing bugs that may be present; and
  • conducting data and system analytics, including research to improve the Service.

III. Disclosure of information

Your Organization may disclose the information collected in the following ways:

  • to third-party apps, websites or other services that you can connect to through the Service;
  • in connection with a substantial corporate transaction, such as the transfer of the Service, a merger, consolidation, asset sale or in the unlikely event of bankruptcy or insolvency;
  • to protect the safety of any person; to address fraud, security or technical issues; and
  • in connection with a subpoena, warrant, discovery order or other request or order from a law enforcement agency.

IV. Accessing and modifying your information

You and your Organization may access, correct or delete information that you have uploaded to the Service using the tools within the Service. If you are not able to do so using the tools provided in the Service, you should contact your Organization directly to access or modify your information.

V. Account closure

If you would like to stop using the Service, you should contact your Organization. Similarly, if you stop working for or with the Organisation, the Organisation may suspend your Work Account and/or delete any information associated with your Work Account.

VI. Changes to this Beta Privacy Disclosure

This Beta Privacy Disclosure may be updated from time to time. When updated, the "last updated" date above will be amended and the new Beta Privacy Disclosure will be posted online.
